The Moxon antenna is a highly efficient two-element parasitic array antenna that has a real gain of approximately 5.5dBi. It is specifically designed and tuned for frequencies in the 430-440Mhz range, which are commonly used in LRS/UHF FPV systems, and offers a VSWR of less than 1.3 within that range. The antenna comes complete with a rigid cable and can be mounted directly to your TX.
The Moxon antenna can be thought of as a 2-element yagi with the tips of the elements bent towards one another. It is a significant upgrade over typical rubberduckies that are commonly equipped with transmitters. The Moxon antenna has high gain, excellent characteristics, and is "almost" omnidirectional. It only has a null on the back of the antenna.
The Moxon antenna provides three advantages over a typical two-element Yagi. First, it is small in physical size, which makes it an excellent field antenna. Second, it has an outstanding front-to-back ratio, with a model ratio of about 30dB. Third, the Moxon is a 50ohm antenna that generates a near-perfect 1:1 VSWR without requiring any additional matching devices. It is also quite broadbanded, allowing for effective full-band coverage.
