Item description
The Prodrone PRO 5-turn helical is a directional 5.8 GHz antenna for FPV pilots who want to get the most range out of their video link in the direction they fly. Its gain of ~10 dBi concentrates reception in front of you instead of spreading it in all directions, and you can use it directly on your goggles.
Beamwidth
The 5-turn Prodrone PRO helical antenna has a very wide beam: 50°. This is the real beamwidth at maximum gain, so you do not have to keep the antenna pointed exactly at the drone. At shorter distances the beamwidth can reach 100°.
Circular polarization, RHCP or LHCP
A helical antenna is circularly polarized. Circular polarization reduces the effect of signal reflections from the ground, buildings and trees, and the image stays steadier when the drone banks and rolls. Choose RHCP or LHCP to match the antenna on your video transmitter.
Semi-rigid RG402 cable
All helical antennas in the PRO series have a semi-rigid cable. We use high-quality RG402 cables. We do not use the cheapest cables.
A semi-rigid cable keeps its shape after you bend it, so you can point the antenna in any direction on your goggles without any adapters. Our cables have very low attenuation: less signal is lost between the antenna and the receiver, so you can fly even further.
Choose the connector that matches your equipment: SMA or RP-SMA, straight or angled.
Checked and labeled
We check every antenna several times during production. Each antenna has a label that shows the frequency range in which it works best, so you know which channels to use for the best results.
If you buy more than one antenna, all of them will be tuned to the same frequency range. We do not sell antennas of random quality.
