Item description

ProFlex GP V2 – 868 / 900 / 915 MHz Ground Plane Antenna

Compact Omnidirectional Antenna with Precision RF Tuning

The ProFlex GP V2 is a compact Ground Plane antenna designed for 868 MHz, 900 MHz or 915 MHz systems. Each antenna is manufactured and individually tuned for the frequency selected when ordering, providing excellent impedance matching, stable RF performance and a VSWR below 1.2.

With an omnidirectional radiation pattern and approximately 2.2 dBi gain, the GP V2 is an excellent choice for applications where reliable communication is required regardless of the direction of the remote transmitter or receiver.

It is particularly well suited for UAV telemetry, long-range RC systems, LoRa / LoRaWAN, ELRS, TBS Crossfire, industrial telemetry, IoT devices and other sub-GHz radio systems.

Ground Plane Design

Unlike a simple monopole antenna that relies heavily on the installation itself to provide an RF ground, the ProFlex GP V2 uses dedicated ground radials to create a defined counterpoise for the radiating element.

This design helps provide:

  • stable antenna impedance,

  • low VSWR,

  • efficient RF energy transfer,

  • repeatable performance,

  • omnidirectional coverage,

  • reduced dependence on the mounting environment.

The result is a compact antenna that provides consistent performance even when installed on equipment where a natural conductive ground plane is unavailable.

Omnidirectional 360° Coverage

The GP V2 has an omnidirectional radiation pattern, making it particularly useful in applications where the direction of the remote station changes continuously or cannot be predicted.

Unlike directional antennas, it does not need to be aimed toward the transmitter or receiver.

This makes it ideal for:

  • UAV and drone telemetry,

  • ground control stations,

  • mobile communication systems,

  • LoRa and LoRaWAN nodes,

  • ELRS and long-range RC systems,

  • TBS Crossfire installations,

  • industrial telemetry,

  • remote sensors,

  • experimental and custom RF systems.

Individually Tuned for Your Frequency

The ProFlex GP V2 is available in three frequency versions:

868 MHz
900 MHz
915 MHz

The selected frequency is not simply a nominal specification. Each antenna is individually tuned and checked before shipment to achieve optimum matching at the requested operating frequency.

This is particularly important at UHF frequencies, where even relatively small dimensional differences can noticeably affect antenna resonance and impedance.

Low VSWR – Efficient RF Performance

With a specified VSWR below 1.2, the antenna provides excellent matching to standard 50-ohm RF systems.

Good impedance matching means that more transmitter power is delivered to the antenna instead of being reflected back toward the transmitter. For receiving systems, efficient matching also helps minimize unnecessary RF losses.

The GP V2 can therefore be used both as a transmitting and receiving antenna.

Compact, Simple and Robust

The Ground Plane configuration combines very good RF characteristics with a mechanically simple and durable construction.

The antenna is suitable for installations where:

  • available space is limited,

  • a reliable omnidirectional antenna is required,

  • a conventional external ground plane is unavailable,

  • consistent antenna performance is more important than extreme directional gain.

It is an effective alternative to simple whip antennas when better controlled RF characteristics and repeatable tuning are required.

Custom Frequencies Available

Need a frequency outside the standard 868 / 900 / 915 MHz versions?

Prodrone can manufacture and individually tune the GP V2 for custom operating frequencies and frequency ranges. This makes the antenna suitable not only for commercial and hobby applications, but also for professional communication, telemetry, public-safety and specialized RF systems.

Custom versions can be prepared for frequencies such as:

  • 136–174 MHz (VHF) — professional and public-safety mobile radio
  • 225–400 MHz (UHF) — military UHF / NATO tactical and air-ground links
  • 433 / 435 MHz – telemetry, remote control and specialized radio systems
  • 450–470 MHz – professional UHF communication and telemetry
  • 470–490 MHz – specialized data links and private radio systems
  • 380–430 MHz – professional, public-safety and TETRA-related applications
  • 700 MHz band – professional and public-safety communication systems
  • 750 / 770 MHz – specialized telemetry and communication systems
  • 806–826 MHz – professional and mission-critical radio applications
  • 840 MHz
  • 868 MHz
  • 900 / 902–920 / 915 MHz
  • 950 MHz
  • 1.2 / 1.3 GHz — UAV video and telemetry downlinks
  • 2.4 GHz / 5.8 GHz — drone control and FPV video
  • other customer-specified frequencies

We can also prepare antennas for specific center frequencies or narrower operating ranges, optimized for the customer's radio system rather than using a generic broadband design.

For custom orders, please provide the required frequency or frequency range, connector type and intended application. Each custom antenna can be individually tuned and verified before shipment.

OEM, industrial, UAV, public-safety, government and specialized RF projects are welcome.
